2TG Problems

Hey all,
Just a couple of questions about my 2T-GEU i have...
I have recently put this engine in my TA22 and had to use the 2T engine mousts since the twincam cam out of a T18. Now when i look at the engine it seems to be slanted towards the passenger side about 2 - 3 degrees... is this normal? if not can anyone suggest the problem?
Also I'm using the stock TA22 radiator and i reckon once the plactic fan goes in i'll have about 5mm to 10mm clearance between radiator and fan. I know i should use a thermo but i dont think i'll have the money just yet todo so, so i'm wondering if anyone has come upto this problem before and what i will have todo to fix the fan prob.. (I.E; can i change radiators from T18 to the TA22 or waters pumps etc?????)
Cheers Simon

I have always found that the 2tg's I have done always slant slightly to the passenger side.... never effected anything.
as for the radiator fan, thermo's are best, they're not worth that much thesedays, go to a wreckers and pick one up for $20, wire it up. and mount it

So suppose i get a thermo (which i reckon i will) how would i go at wiring it up?
Would i wire it up as when i switch the ignition on the thermo starts up and doesnt stop until i turn car off?
Or is there a way i can get the thermo to switch off when temp goes down and starts up when it gets to hot etc???
thx for replyin snyper, much appreciated

dont turn it on as soon as ignition turns on because it makes the eniine heat up slower maybe not operating at right temp causing more engine wear.u can buy a switch that automatically turns the fan on they cost around $60 for the switch.

Using the T-18 water pump and fan (3T), this is a viscous thermo fan. It will come very close to the rad. WHich is ok for a bit but once anything twists out of shape the fan will hit the rad which it did in my car. Maybe best to use the old TA22 fan, but to do this you must also use the TA22 water pump. Also, the fixed fan off a 4K motor will also fit the TA22 waterpump. Also you need the matching water pump pully for the fan belt when changing over.
All T motors sit on a slight angle. Look underneath at the stiffener brackets. The bottom holes on each should be horizontal, and you will see each stiffener bracket has a different shape making the block sit on a angle like it should.

there are two different types of 2tg water pumps you can get, the one you want is the shorter neck one, this will give you more room between the waterpump and the radiator!
