as the title says. looking for a cheap MA61 supra in sydney. Dont care what condition the engine is in (or if it even has an engine). A decent paintjob would be nice, but not essential
oh, and as little rust as possible
Cheers Greg

1JZ transplant, then work it up from there to my liking 2jz would be nice, but manual is essential, and I'm not willing to fork out for a manual 2jz
which reminds me .. another thing for the car straight body ... dont want a twisted chassis to contend with

Would you consider a straight MA61 in Brisbane?

I'd consider the MA61 on brisbane, depending on prices ... cause I'd have to ship it down here, and I could probably find one down here that'd work out cheaper (in theory....) but all depends on quality, price, etc ... what's on offer?

the RA65, sadly, if going to be sold I've become quite attached to it, but unfortunately it just doesn't put out the figures for me handles amazingly, but just not enuf power (or room for a 1jz)

I have a black 5-speed MA61 with a 6M-GE. No rust except for the hatch, paint is OK but not great, body has no damage. I'm asking $4k at the moment but I'm negotiable because I want to get rid of it. No license means having 3 cars is a bit of a waste!

that's your old project car norbie? I'd love it, but the price is a bit steep. Problem is I dont really want the engine, and that's probably what's hiking the price up (I'd assume)
btw, how goes the wiring of the 2jz upgrade?

It's currently my daily runabout, I'm keeping the project car (the blue one). You really think $4k is steep for a Mk2 in reasonable shape? Sure you can get 'em cheaper than that, but they're usually wrecks.
2JZ is wired to the point where it can start and run... it's all details now (eg instruments).

Id agree with norbie on this one - a running ma61 in decent nick is good at 4K .. hell - my dad paid 9k for an immaculate one with a 5ME - but its worth every cent ..
plus a 6MGE is plenty of power for the time being - much smoother than the 5M i believe
anything cheaper and you get a rustbucket thats bent all to hell ..
