2nd Gen 3S-GE head gasket

I own a 1990 Toyota Celica ST-182 and recently my head gasket blew. I have heard that this is acctually a common problem with this engine so I am thinking of replacing it with the 0,8mm thick steel TRD head gasket for my engine.
Does anybody know if it is the same thickness as the stock one and does anybody have any suggestions considering other head gaskets or other work I should do as well as changing the gasket?

ah ha ha. 3SGE, I have heard that is a really good motor! heheh.
I have overheated my car at least twice since I got it (180,000), and once badly, but not for long - though I did get the 'death rattle'.
The HG is still sweet. (I haven't had it CO2 tested) But there are no symptoms.
very tough motor.

Just to clarify, the St-182 has the 2nd-gen 3S-GE.
Í have heard many examples of ST-182 Celicas with a blown head gasket so I doubt it is good enough.
Also, if i would buy the TRD head gasket then I would get a slightly higher compression ratio and a bit more power. Right?

What head gasket is that? The TRD one? It is going to cost me 80 US dollars from the States but it is going to take 9 weeks to get here.
