What auto trans does the 1ggze come with, and is it electrically controlled? If so, can it easily be rewired to work 'manual' with a few switches?

Mrshn, 1GGE,1GGTE, and 1GGZE all come with the same auto box, either controlled from an independant factory computer or the main engine ECU also controlling the Auto box. The boxes are too old and generally too shagged,(organic clutch pack materials have a finite life) to bother with modifying. try something later.

Yeah, I'm not really trying too hard on this one though, I've just got an old sa63 celica without engine or gearbox and I'm trying to dream up the cheapest possible way to get it moving again with at least some kind of force. I've got a nissan rb25 engine + manual trans, but I was just looking at putting something toyota in and keeping the rb25 for an old skyline I've got. Auto trans 1g's seem to be about as cheap as things get, just wondered if it was worth a go.
