1jz coil packs and holders

Ive just pulled the coil packs on my 1jz - figure Ill pretty much rebuild the entire engine while its out
now apart from replacing all the screws that hold the coil packs to the brackets (2 of which burred and I need to drill out), what else should I do?
the brackets themselves are looking a little off, and one of them is slightly rusted. Im considering sanding them back, and was wondering if theres some sort of protective coat I could put on to stop corrosion/rust (also, what are they made of? steel?)
I think a simple clear lacquer coat wouldnt stand up to the temps, being right on top of the engine
any advice?

u will find that the lacquer will stand up to the temps under there.
most enamel paint is fine with block temps its only the exhaust manifold where u need the high silicone temp resistant paint.

Ceramic coat them baby, yeah! Do the cam covers, in fact everything, while you're at it Mightn't be cheap, but it lasts well and looks great

When I removed my coil packs I left them on the brackets as I was begining to stuff the screw headed bolts up. I just pulled them out in pairs of two sitting on the bracket. Maybe some of that VHT paint would be fine. Did you pull the sparks out too Draven?
I really don't know whether I should replace my sparks (platinum) or not, theyve done 40,000kms, with conventional or platinum again. Ill be running wasted spark with the haltech so ill be wearing them out twice as quick, and as you know they are a biatch to change.
Is $20 a plug worth it?
