TTE Supercharger

Hey guys, this post most probably belongs in Technical AND Wanted Parts...Sorry if its the wrong sections.
Anyways, Im over the slowness of the IS200, and want the TTE Supercharger. Where would one source the kit? UniqueAutosport has them for $6600 but thought thats a tad over priced..no?
Also, I dont plan on the sc yet, maybe in 6 months, but at the moment, im doing bolt on mods such as Exhaust. Is 2.5" from manifold back ok? And will it suit the s/c later on? Also, what about compression? It runs 10.0:1 at the moment, but Im guessing it should be fine, as the kit was specifically made to suit the asthmatic 1G-FE.
Cheers!
Shane.

$6600 sounds about right for a supercharger - they ain't cheap!
2.5" is probably a good compromise between performance and noise... supercharged engines are notoriously noisy so a 3" system would probably be a bit much for a street car.
I wouldn't worry about the compression, like you say the kit is designed for your engine so it probably runs pretty low boost. You could still run reasonable boost with a really good intercooler though.

Thanks Norbie. Im pretty sure I seen the kit in the 5k price range, but could have been drunk!
I know cooling is harder than a turbo vehicle.
Does it make much difference for a FMIC?
How hard are the kits to install? (Straight bolt on kit)

Cooling isn't harder at all with modern supercharger setups. With old-school V8's it was the norm to have a big roots blower integrated into the manifold so there was nowhere to put an intercooler, however with modern setups the blower is separate to the manifold so it's quite easy to put an intercooler in between.
As for installation, I have no idea... depends what the kit comes with I guess!

Koffee Black: The TTE kit should come with its own intercooler.
When it comes to the exhaust make sure you get the two or three cataletic ( thats spelt wrong ) converters removed and put an after market one in. My brother had this kit on his and after a long track day melted the converters. Hence needing a complte exhaust. It was 2.5 all the way, with a custom exhaust manifold.
The kits are bolt on but cant remember how long it took to put on. If you get one just make sure you get a larger diamater pully put on and get the boost up, it makes a huge difference.
Cheers Steve.

I don't know if you've seen this page, but it looks like a great guide (but expensive) to upgrading the IS200.
