Engine Coversion for Corona 1g-gte Sat, 18 October 2003 20:10 Go to next message
Hey dudes Razz

Well I've come accoss a few $$$$ this week and i've decided to get another engine for my 83 st141 corona. I've looked around and everyone say a 1g-gte would suit best. I'm gonna get a half cut of a old school supra which costs around $1200.

what things needs upgrading once the engine is in... like brakes n all that??? all wanna give me a list Smile

I've got all the time in the world to screw around with doing it but i wanna do most of the work myself for fun Cool

anyone know an estimate of the cost of everything i need to buy?

Brakes - definitly but an easy mod.
Electrical - Yup, need to wire up an engine computer.
Fuel - if your car is already injected, should be fine, if not you will need new lines, surge tank, pumps etc.
Exhaust - Shouldn't need to explain that one.
Accelerator cable
Fitting intercooler.

ST141's aren't injected, but RT142's are and the tank/fuel lines are a direct swap so that's easy to take care of.

You could probably pull some upgraded rear brakes of the 2.4L coronas (RT142?). I believe that they had rear discs.
