hey guys,
ive been doing a lot of thinking as to what im gona spend my tax return on, and if its not all used up on bills i was thinking of using it to buy a supercharger off a 4agze and somehow run it on my 16v...(its map sensored, not afm by the way. dont know if this make any difference as to how easy it would be to fit the supercharger but i thought i'd mention it anyway)
i have heaps of questions though...if anyone knows about this kinda thing could you please help me out??
i was told by a friend that if i ran no more than 6psi the stocky 16v internals (my motor is in pretty good nick) would be able to handle it. is this the case??
also, i'm assuming that the standard 4ag ecu isnt mapped for boost, so does that mean that i would have to get a complete engine management system, or could i get away with just running a piggy-back super AFC in parallel with the standard ecu?
what other things would have to be done?
sorry for all the dumbass questions, any help would be really appreciated.
=======cheers, roman========================================

sound slike a lot of effort when you could buy a stock 4AGZE for probably less than you would spend to put it on a NA 4AG...
hmm, you could buy the GZE and sell me your old 4AG

why dont u just turbocharge it -- just another idea!
i think the sensors off the ze compared to the ge is pretty differnt, from the top of my head the crank angle sensor is different.

As pointed out, the smartest thing to do is buy a 4agze front cut/package, install it, and sell your existing engine/ecu/etc. while it's still in one piece - also by buying a front cut, you can use the front brakes etc. as well, maybe score an LSD box, and anything else - definately MUCH better value. Plus you know it'll work/last
