silly question but . where the hell is the breather located on a r154 manual 5sp .. or is there one at all ??

i keep blowing out rear seal .. ?? what else could it be ?

I know it isn't nice to say, but at least someone else is having this problem.

A guy I know with a Soarer with R154 is having the same issues. Fluid leaking out the back of the box near where the tailshaft is connected.

Let me know if you find anything out.

im going cut and shorten the spring behind the seal .. make a tighter clamp on shaft.. see how tha works this time ... also i'll put another breather on the top shifter plate .. wont have car running for another 1 or 2 to test it ( been of the road 6 mths now for gt30 and haltech upgrade )

I love it when gearbox end seals decide to crap out for no particular reason while you're 400km from home and dump ALL of the gearbox oil on the road, thus destroying your gearbox and leaving you stranded.

im goin to put another breather and also tighen up spring on seal .. hope that holds the f#@ken oil in

Gearbox end seals often die as a result of constant drivetrain vibrations. Does your car have any bid vibes or wobbles?
