never know we might even be able to get all our cars on the news if we did some thing like Celica's 4 Kids and raise money for the childrens hospital or something anyway once we work out how many people would want to do it we then just have to work out where we would all meet and drive? suggestions welcome.
and i don't think there is any need to have guys who will be doing burnouts off at every set of lights we don't want to give Celica a bad name

I've found when it comes to cruises & events, you get a better response if you organise a time, date, and basic plans (with some room for change) and then put the idea forward to see who is keen.

I reckon you'll be pleasently suprised.

BTW, I'll deffinately be keen for this, & yes, that's what I set out to do with the Megacruise, & seeing as we ended up with 13 old celicas, and a few later ones, I was quite pleased.

i don't mind people giving it a bit of a smoke show i just don't think it would be good in a public area where one guy does it then everyone does and thats when you start getting problems but i'd like to see what this car is like i have prblems driving in the wet and trying not to spin the wheels going off at lights and thats with only 150hp i can't imagine what it would be like driving my car with 400hp!!! Shocked

i have to tell you that it sure does look good, i suppose i'll get to see it when we do his drive day thing, and sre i'd love to have a car brought back to that sort of condition but it wouldn't be a good idea for me as my favorite past time is thrashing it around dirt tracks so i'd be bound to put some dints and chips all over it. so instead of wasting money on redoing my car up i think i might just pop down and get those fluro orange rally mud flaps from revolution race gear Razz so when we go on the cruze theres no chance of me flicking a stone into your car.

you can see some pics of mine at

COUNT ME IN!!! COUNT ME IN!!!

im only a newbie here, but im a long time member of twincam16.com. Only only last week bought my beautiful RA28 mustang look-alike, and i am itching to go on a cruise!! from the looks of it here, lots of you guys own old school celica's... SO LETS GET A CRUISE GOING!! im in for it!
i think the idea of driving up Old Northern Rd to Wiseman's ferry is good, cos we can all meet at Castle Hill in this big outdoor carpark. I will warn you that the Old Northern Rd gets a bit bumpy in the sticks, i dunno about you guys but my LOW celica isnt a big fan of bumps, but i dont mind really... the old pacific hwy is totally worth it!!

I think the cruise should happen 3rd or 10th august, during the day (like start in the morning so there can be some hoon-time). Then if we all want we can do some more cruising out to the coast??
Anyway, suggestions people... you want it to happen!!!

i certainly don't mind the bumps as i'm the kinda person who thinks every road even freeways should be dirt the i'd be in heaven Rolling

so that means there is 7 celica's come on guys i think we can do better then that

Guy's

i'd say yes.. but when i do that i break something...
was all sorted for the megacruise... till i found the broken rotor button! they are not easy to find for a 1g! so $240 later and a couple of days i'm ready to go.... this is the friday before the cruise.
i'll take her for a drive to see how much better it goes without missing.... well, i got half way up my street before blowing the diff!

i don't know if i can afford it!!!
if i have the new diff in then i will probly come.... but the centre in it now sounds cactus! (it's done bout 100km's!)

Cheers
Stew

Re: Do You Have A Celica? Wed, 24 July 2002 07:57 Go to previous messageGo to next message
the 3rd of august is far to soon as i need to do some welding on my car to get it to cruse level and the 10th well i have a 24th birthday party to attend that day plus Saturdays don't work for me as thats the only day i get money as i work, it will have to be a sunday (and what better way to end the weekend) and i think we will have this all sorted out in a week or so.
so i reckon a sunday at the end of august or early september as this gives us all more time to get our cars ready, make sure we are free for that day and get more people involved. what does everyone think about this?

plus i plan on doing a lap of the course to make sure it will be good and work out just how long it will take to complete and i'll also make some pace notes so everyone can get a copy so we don't take a wrong turn and so forth.

So how about that?

that sounds like a good idea. There is some movement somewhere and thats nothing but positive.
My car is a bit of a rust heap, but she's good for cruising... and sundays arent all that good for me, but im sure i can wing a day off work if i warn early enough
now... its off to tune them BLOODY webers

ok well i worked out the driving details but they can always be changed if you have a better idea or suggestiong total distance is to be about 180km so says my map and piece of string, start at Dural say the Macca's there as a meeting place where we drive along the Old Northern Road to Wisemans ferry
where we can have a pit stop, get drinks and top up the tank for those like me who's car uses a sh!t load of fuel. then continue over the ferry onto Wisemans Ferry Road where we follow that then go left into George Downs Drive then right onto Springs Road which goes onto Greta RD/Bumble Hill RD then right onto Yarramalong Road,
then right onto Old Maitland Road/Cobbs Road which brings us into
tuggerah where we go right onto the Pacific Highway where perhaps we make a stop over at West Gosford Macca's for lunch or something (depending on what time of day) then follow the Pacific Highway all the way back to berowra where the fun twisty stuff ends and perhaps pull over on the single dirrection road going from Cowan to Berowra to say good bye or whatever.

Now how does all that sound to you guys? any better idea's? there is one alternative and that is making it even longer by going from Tuggerah through to the Entrance and back around the coast to gosford then back onto the Pacific High way but i'm not making this decision by myself as its for all of us so let me know what you all think.

If you hit the big intersection on George Downs Rd and you see a dude playing silly buggers on a tractor, it's probably my dad so don't forget to wave. Nod

YAY!! sounds like a tops plan GIN51E! im defintely up for that... shall we set a date at saaaaay either the 11th or 18th august? both of which are sundays.
i myself think that we should stick to your plan thus far and if time permits on the day, head further up to the entrance. Otherwise it sounds like a fun packed day....
GIN51E... i think we should possibly start a thread in the events section to notify anyone else who doesnt already know about this CELICA CRUISE.

Now lets get some serious numbers going people!!

Yup doing year 12 at Asquith boys and tuesday afternoons doing computer servicing,
Boys today i went for a drive to wisemans and i'm looking forward to the 25th its a good road speed limit varies between 70-80 and 90 but mostly 90km and its just a great drive i'll be interested to see what the road is like on the other side of the ferry but i think it should be a tops cruise boys.

just need to make some more adjustments to the engine found it to pop a lot and ping in the exhaust after its been running for a while. but hopefully she will be puring by the 25th making a deal with MRT at the moment about getting it tunned. Rolling

Havn't you been on the other side of the ferry??? It's a bit of a shit road like bitumen to really rough dirt & gravel, then back to bitumen and so forth... It's a mad rally road but there are a few corners that are assholes... You know the ones... Easy entry then it gets tighter and tighter so u have to jump on the brakes and at that point the back starts going out and shit... If you are prepared for corners like them you should be okay... there is only dirt banks on either side and grass and stuff... Not bad if you have a little spin... If it's a hot and windy day, i recommend having a bit of a gap between each car though because the dust is a real bitch at times...

Dirt??? hehehe Rolling hehehe Rolling hehehe Rolling Rolla you just made my day, i'm much happier now i know there is dirt, i'm a rally freak its my passion GOOOOOOOOOO Watagans if you can survive the Watagans you can survive everything that watagans state foresty is made up off long straight roads then corners which always are blind and tighten on slippery dirt and for those tightening corners Thats why god invented the hand brake hehehe i reckon i would have been on that road but to far back to remember.

So it will be a fun day for me experiencing roads i've never experienced before Smile
