Car Alarm suggestions Mon, 20 October 2003 08:01 Go to next message
Can anyone suggest a car alarm/immobiliser? I have just bought a new car that doesn't have an alarm and would like to put one on. Not particularly on a budget (not looking at a basic Jaycar Special), but don't want to pay stupid money either.

Also if anyone can suggest a good installer in Melbourne's East/South East that would be appreciated

Thanks

Get a full immobiliser / alarm system installed by the RAA on thrusday. Gets me a discount off their insurance which is a bonus.

$380 installed - Two circuit engine immobiliser, random hopping 1.8E18 possible codes, black wiring, auto arm / rearm, antishort protection, override pin code, open relay contacts, etc

The Jaycar "Shadow" immobiliser (STOCK-CODE: LA8970) meets Australian standards and can be upgraded to an full alarm very easily when you are ready. I've put one in an AE82 myself and it's not very difficult. Dual immobiliser, code hopping remotes, black wiring, etc etc.

cyclops s75b... black wire, 2 or 3 point immobiliser, code hopping remotes, CDL hook up, glass break sensor, shock sensor, pin code override, bright blue led (cool!), back up battery siren supplied...

or cheaper BLACK WIDOW 10000 as above but without the glass break sensor and pin override or blue led (red instead)...

remember its only insurance approved if it is installed by a qualified technician... like me Razz !
