Hi Flow CT26 + Lexus AFM/550's questions

Hey!
A good friend of mine is going to do the Lexus AFM and RC 550cc's. But I have a few questions, that I am not completely sure about yet.
1) After market ECU is not required is it? It's just I have read on a few websites that people have after markets ecu's, and I'm just gathering its part of their upgrade proccess and not really a neccessity with the AFM upgrade.
2)Is a FPR required?
3)How much does a stock 7MGTE fuel pump flow? (1990 MZ20 Soarer) Would an after market pump be req. to feed the larger injectors? ie Bosche pump or something?
4)This will allow for much higher boost levels without FCD? And how high?
Ok, High Flow CT26 time:
1)What would be stock boost on one of these?
2)So far the engine has, a HK$ MHG, 7mGE cams, 3" turbo back mandrel, and a K&N Pod Filter. Is this enough to cop the extra oomph from the high flow?
3)Would it run ok on stock Intercooler?
Umm, thats all I can think of at this stage But, I'm sure I'll be back with more
Thanks guys!
EDIT: 550cc's not 500cc's *smacks himself on the head*

1) No. The whole point of the Lexus upgrade is to avoid the installation of an aftermarket ECU or piggyback computer. It's basically a cheap and dodgy way of doing the same thing.
2) An adjustable FPR or RRFPR is recommended for fine-tuning, but it's not mandatory.
3) I would install a bigger pump for peace of mind. I'm not sure what the stock pump is rated at but you'd probably be pushing its limits if you maxed out the 550's.
4) Fuel cut will occur at much higher boost; over 20psi from memory.

With a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, does it make the pressure changes automatically?

Yes; a rising rate FPR adjusts fuel pressure in proportion to manifold boost pressure. Some models allow you to adjust the manifold:fuel pressure ratio, but most are fixed.

less dodgy then a FCD or crappy piggy back chip and probably also better then those S-AFC/f-con thingos
dont seem to hear complants from people that have done it!

hrmm, ok, what if this particular 7MGTE already has a S-AFC? We were gonna set it back to 0 and get it re-tuned. I hope it works with the new setup, he spent allot of big ones on it !
