hi people.
i'm new here and i'm from america, where we drive on the wrong side of the street.
i have an 85 gt-s coupe. not currently running. somethings wrong with the electrical somewhere. 
i'm very pleased to have found this place, you all seem really knowledgeable from the posts i've read so far (unlike the board i'm used to participating in where everyone's first experience with the ae86 is initial d ). i hope we can all become best friends forever!!

nice to see acknowledgment of wrong side driving 
side-note, apparently the americans changed to the other side of the road to spite the english after the war of independance. sigh, children
Question is, why didn't they spite them further and ditch the archaic imperial system 
Nice to have to here posneg. You should ditch the engine in the 85 and put in a 1G, altho some people have told me they are more rare in america?

1G is from the late 80's supra/soarer. Available in various forms, both NA, turbo and supercharged. 2litre inline 6 cylinder. A common conversion here for rwd celica owners is to put the 3rd gen 1G-GTE (twin turbo) engine into the celica, which is a 'straight-forward' fit. Have a look at the tech articles on the site for more info. Its the conversion I plan to do on my baby
