new rear end for rt104 Tue, 21 October 2003 09:20 Go to next message
well, i'm in the market for a new rear end for my RT104 (as the title implies) and i'd dearly like to know of any experiences anyone has had relacing said items.

idealy, i'd like it to have disc brakes and a simmilar stud pattern as the front end, and it MUST be tougher than standard, preferably LSD.

also, if those requirements aren't enough, i'd like it to be (reasonably) easy to fit

any help would be appreciated (although not rewarded, sexually or otherwise)

cheers

i have looked into it and a hilux rear end is only the real way about it, look at about $1200 for a drive in drive out, cause u need to weld new brackets, mod the shaft, drill the studs ect.

this is why u want a new rear end:http://www.geocities.com/mrdohc2000/diff.html

after a little research, i got the following resuts:
petrol: 4.88:1
Deisel: 4.5:1

are these correct?
if so, it will screw up my highway revs, and idealically, i'd like to keep them at ~= 4.0:1

cheers

I think you would find the hilux and corona share the same distance between the springs thus no need to get brackets swaped!
