From what I remember reading, Pedders are just rebranded Monroes anyway...
My advice would be to save up and buy decent shocks.

monroe gt and pedders = same thing, different paint, the only other difference is the price, pedders will charge way more.

I guess it depends on the car they are going onto.
For a Soarer, even at trade prices it cost just under $500 for all four shocks in KYB flavour.

is the pedders thing a myth that has done the chinese whisper rounds?
because pedders make adjustable coilovers (new EXTREME range) and im sure that monroe dont make coilovers so whats the go?

As an ex-Monroe/Walker employee, they most definitely make Pedders and a few others.
They recently lost the contract to make the shiockers for Ford due to quality issues. Holden still use them, dunno why, but they are cheap.
Save a little longer, buy some decent units and install them yourself. $50 for a good spring compressor and an afternoons work and it is done. Fronts are the hard one if Macpherson strut, but the rears are a doddle.

my dad used to know this website that uncovered all of the pedders myths, as he ( not my dad ) was an ex employee and made a site bagging the shit out of them. the pedders rally and teams use bilstien for fucks sake and they are a "suspension" company, i wouldnt touch pedders, monroe aint great and then pedders paint it and charge twice as much for it, avoid pedders if u can

Draven just bought KYB's for his MA61. You'll probably find the suspension between the two cars will be very similar if not identical. Don't quote me on that.

Save for the KYB's buddy they are a step above the others - and the only other choice whiteline suggested using in my gt4 instead of Koni's if i wanted to save dollars ( i ended up getting the koni's but im guessing they are out of your range at the moment )
KYB all the way baby !

I've just got a set of Koni's in my ma61 it'd the second set I've had(not in this car)and they're the best you can buy regardless of price. I've had Bilsteins and everything and the Koni's ride a lot better and the handling is just as good. Don't waste money on cheap shit as you'll only have to replace again anyway. Your shocks can't be that bad can they????

Dude, DO NOT GO FOR THE PEDDERS.
I know everyone else on here has said the same, but I wish I knew this before I paid 600-700 for all 4 corners on my old MZ20 soarer.
The fronts died within 2 months. I have spoken to other Z2 owners who have the same crappers shocks, and theirs has done the same.
And I have also heard that Pedders are rebadged Monroes.

I need to redo the suspension in my MA61 prior to the engineering evaluation

Can't help with Koni part numbers but you will generally pay about $440 for a pair of their front shocks, $330 for a pair of rear ones, and $150 for each pair of Lovells springs, and all before you pay someone to fit them for you.
I had a mate help me fit them myself.
I agree with everyone else, stay away from Monroe and Pedders, you will live to regret in. Save for the Koni's, they are the best. If you can't do that buy the KYB's.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Just some update prices for MA61 shocks (in Adelaide) ;
Koni
Front : Red Units (adjustable when fully compressed) $225 each
Rear : As above but $130 each
Wouldn't give me part numbers, some Secret Squirrel shit ?
KYB
Front : 365001 - $101.50 each + GST
Rear : 343042 - $52.50 each + GST
Rear : KG4767 - $63.35 each + GST (but ex Syd only, so an extra $14 for freight for us in Adelaide)
Draven, how do these prices and part numbers compare with the ones you got ?
I had a pair of Koni Sport on the rear of my RA23 and they weer pretty good, but at $710 for Koni's compared to $310 for the KYB, are they that much better ?
Cheers

Mate I got them through Penrith wholesale suspension in Sydney. I rang around and the Koni catalogue doesn't have a listing for the ma61 in FRONT shocks but does for the rear. They may be ra65 I don't know....But they fit and they work. A semi professional rally driver drove my car after the suspension was done and absolutley loved it....he said it rode better than his ma61 even though the set up was stiffer.

Hi Supraijz,
It is not uncommon thing that they don't list it for one model, but do for another and they will fit.
Do you have the part numbers and/or the prices you paid ?
What springs did you use ?
Appreciate the help

they said another option was to get the springs reset to an inch lower and get the shocks regassed and sealed.. but that wouldnt be too good would it?
I know john from import blitz.. but that would take importing them
