90dB for 1983/4 (not sure) and newer cars 96dB for older cars thats in vic anyway, my mate got done for his muffler on his sa63.... [Report message to a moderator]

for N.S.W. it's 90dB for new cars (can't remember what a new car is atm) 93dB for older cars i think. don't take this as gospel truth. btw, if you have a problem, then you might want to get a resonator. i got a 18 inch resonator installd for $50, and it dropped the emitted noise intensity by about 5dB well worth the money! cheers [Updated on: Thu, 23 October 2003 01:11] [Report message to a moderator]

no, at 4000rpm. i am fairly certain that is how it is measured by the RTA so thats how i did mine [Report message to a moderator]
