90dB for 1983/4 (not sure) and newer cars
96dB for older cars

thats in vic anyway, my mate got done for his muffler on his sa63....

for N.S.W. it's
90dB for new cars (can't remember what a new car is atm)
93dB for older cars

i think. don't take this as gospel truth.

btw, if you have a problem, then you might want to get a resonator.
i got a 18 inch resonator installd for $50, and it dropped the emitted noise intensity by about 5dB
well worth the money!

no, at 4000rpm.

i am fairly certain that is how it is measured by the RTA
so thats how i did mine
