i have a AE92 SX stock. This problem started about 2 weeks ago... i dont know why but my car seems to be guzzling fuel.. it just munches on fuel... i havnt done anything to it... my clutch seems to be pretty screwed.. getting a new one very soon.
say i go out on the weekend... drive to the city.. .pick up some friends and the gauge has gone down a considerable amount.. friends have also been noticing how much it drains the fuel.. they all tell me to get it checked too...
i dont understand why it eats so much fuel so quick? it used to barely use any... and i used to change at around about 3.5k every gear... now i change at about 2.5k and it dosnt go down as fast... sorry i cant explain it in any further detail... but any help would be appreciated??
also.. any1 recommend any type of clutch? or any place to get it done?
whats the difference between heavy duty clutch and standard? worth paying for the heavy duty??
thanx!!

is it slower than it used to be too? This happened to my falcon...turned out to be a totally clogged exhaust, which they found out when it fell off whilst they were replacing my blown auto. just a suggestion. Checked air cleaner and lines? Something is clogged up somewhere.

apart from what V8_MA61 & peewee said...
replace filters (air, oil & fuel)
new oil
check rotor & dizzi cap
get engine tuned
if clutch is slipping you would be revving higher than needed, not lower.

well my corolla was recently serviced so wouldnt be air filter... or engine oil ...
could be the exhaust...? my friend said he noticed its a little mor sluggish.. but i havtn really noticed much... a little bit.. but i think thats mainly the clutch... i dont think just because the clutch is that bad it would eat so much fuel? or could it?
well when i get a new clutch.. ill get the mechanic tyo check it out for me...
so should i go 4 a heavy duty clutch? or a standard clutch? what exactly would be the difference?
