Hi,
Can anyone tell me the factory oil spec's for the 86kw 4age in an Aus delivered 89 MR2. Also any suggestions on differnt oil to use in an older (210+k's) motor... Maybe a thicker oil?
Engine is starting to get a few leaks and is also blowing alot out the exhaust (oil)... Just wondering if using a different type oil would stop this a bit and provide a bit more protection for my engine in it's senior years... You know... sort of like how your granddad eats bran. Not looking for brand suggestions just grade info...

for a good motor, i'd run 5W50 synthetic
then going down the list
10W50 semi synth
20W50 mineral
25W50 mineral
25W60/30W60 sludge 
the last one is pretty thick, takes longer to warm up, but will reduce smoke etc... not sure if it is thin enough to run in a OHC setup tho...
anyone?
