if you already had a ae86 with a 4age 86kw bigport in it would it be an easy conversion to convert to a 100kw 4age? would it be worth it, or would you just stick with the 86kw?
cheers

it would be very easy, you just gotta work out yourself whether you think its worth it or not, i would say probably not. skip the ge and go to the gze or better.

What sort of power/reliability should someone expect with the 100kw bottom and a bigport head.

yeah i know it will be much cheaper and easier, but is it worth the hassle for the minimal power gain?

thats what i was thinking go all or nothing.
i realy dont think its worth swapping a 88Kw for a 100Kw.
Im guessing it would put out about 90Kw as the extra power is in the 100Kw head port size and compression, would be more reliable cos of the oil cooled pistons and larger crank and gudgen.
Just go GZE!

i'd personally go for the jap 97kw 4age. allready rwd. easy easy job, with the 100kw if u dont allready have a smallport rwd manifold made up u'll need one!

you'll prob pay the same for a good RWD 4AGE as you will a 4AGZE if you look hard enough.
there was a good rule of thumb i read somewhere that said
"don't bother with an engine conversion unless you're getting a minimum 25% power gain - if you're after less than that, build up your existing engine".
i thought that was a good idea anyways...
