I'm considering getting a sport seat for mine, for track days. The stock seat (full BS electric MOFO) weighs upwards of 80kgs. Great reduction if I get a sports bucket thats like 5kg.
I'm guessing that the Chaser has a heavy driver seat too. If the passenger seat is electric, it'll be heavy too.

Depending on how far you want to go with it, but most of the weight in cars comes from the "extras" that are thrown on it.
But it helps to look at the front and rear weight distribution as well. find out the weight over the front wheels and rear and see how far out they are. (usually the front is heavier)
going the full bit the easyist weight reduction comes from fibreglass bonnets, guards etc. But if your dead serious about weight reduction (and don't care about resale) get rid of things like air conditioning, piping and anything that has nothing to do with making the car go. on the interior the easyest is to simply strip the interior clean bar a front seat. If that is too far you can replace the door trims with fibreglass trims, use light weight seats don't have a bit stereo set up. either get one of those pin dick spare tyres or don't carry one.
In my case clean out all the coke cans and bottles (14kg saving)
removing something small may not seem like much in saving but removing hundreds of small thing starts to add up.
I've done some rough numbers for my project and I'm sure I can get about 70-80kg of weight out of my standard Celica (in race trim) and still retain a nice interior.
1st I'd be looking at the weight distribution and get that even as it makes a difference to the handling characteristics of the car. even rims and brakes can make a difference.

Mine weighs about 1600kg. It is a bit depressing that I can't do anything about it. With 1JZ in it that makes over 200rwkw it is still slow to get going in my oppinion. Even XR8's weigh less. I'm going to need alot more power and traction to do low 12's.

Are you sure your car weighs 1600kg? Should take it over a weigh bridge
Don't worry, new XR8's are closer to 1800kg now

WEIGHT REDUCTION MADE SIMPLE FOR PIMP MOBILES.
Stage 1: Remove hoe from front seat (45kg)
Stage 2: Remove 'bitches' from back seats (100kg)
Thats a 145kg saving WOW! I'd like to see anyone else try this in their car!

i took my car over a truck weighbridge in a grain yard in the country and looked through the window and it came up with 945 kg whci was pretty good
as far a weight reduction
take out both front and rear seats, replace with one bucket
fibreglass/carbon bonnet
lose the spare replace with tyre weld
yeh air con if u have it
thats a start

Speaking of pimp mobiles... Guns+ammo weigh a fair bit, try to cut back on the AK47s somewhat - 2 for each person in the car SHOULD suffice! Plus that rocket launcher is adding a bit, too.. Another pimp-tip - the all important system, 4 18 inch subs, 4 1Kw amps and the gold plated wiring really are gonna slow proceedings a bit...
Remember to delete the hydraulics, too! But I guess not having springs has saved, oooh, 3 kilos?

try paramount browns on cavin road, also worth a try is any landscape supplies shop (ie the ones that sell trailer loads of mulch/soil) there is one on research road at pooraka that you could park on then weigh, then piss off before they realise that you're there, has a nice easy to read display also.
remember though tat these things wont weigh your car to the nearest gram, but nearest 20Kg, and they may not be accurate/callibrated regularly.
matty.

chaser: how bout u look at the moving parts under your hood... a moving part such as the flywheel weighs 7 times it's normal weight 'cos it's moving so fast... simply get a lighter one and you'll reduce a decent amount of weight...
or just get a smaller car that isn't so arse heavy!

despite the recommendation, I'd be keeping your current flywheel, or importing one from JUN. with the sort of power you're looking at making, you'll rip ALL lightened and most alloy flywheels to pieces.
and Ive seen what that makes an engine bay look like

As for weight reduction,
I was going to suggest you take the VVTi 1JZGTE out of the heavy Chaser and put it into an early model Supra or similar. But I didn't say that about your new car, because it might've been rude.
So, that leaves me with nothing constructive to say on this topic.
Good luck with the diet,

discharge headlights:
Xenon is a gas (duhhh)
the Xenon gas is in the headlights (duhhhhhh)
to find out why, you can use something called
www.howstuffworks.com
or even
www.google.com
if you don't get it after looking at those two sources, then i'm afraid that you will have to accepth that you just don't get it
mmmm no traction control or ABS at the flick of a fuse.. sounds great!

chaser: nah not autocad... take too darn long
i used 3d studio max 5.0... took 3 hours to get to where i am in the picture...
since posting that picture, i have started from scratch 4 times, attempting different ways of going about things as problems always arise...
the current version i'm working on is further ahead than that, but i havn't sculpted the exact shape of the body as yet.
