I knew that Shell was shit but all petrols??? I saw the news thingy and the petrolium dude said that we were catching up... But how long will it take to catch up??? Its all good and well for the new cars that can be changed to suit the petrol but what about the older cars???

yeah its pretty pathetic over here...
In japan you get 100+ octane petrol ( so forget about the new rex the're bringing out, 235kw standard ) and other juicy cars...
They also pay double the price in petrol, but they get good ol' fashion service, you get the dude, checking the air in your tyres, fluid for your wipers and giving your screens a clean....

A thing to consider tho.. Is.. Its hard to maintain High Octane rating in australia, as you have to remember that heat sends it off.. so going into travelling times for the fuel to get here and then get into the tankers to drive 15 million k's to the servo.. And then in summer? forget about it.. ull find that the 98 octane stuff would probably be rated at 92 again..
