which new clutch for RT104 corona? Mon, 27 October 2003 09:10 Go to next message
(as an aside, i like that heading. lots of detail. lets you know what the whole thread will be about)

anywho, as the thread title implies (wow, what a title!). what is a suitable clutch as a replacement for a RT104 corona with a celica 5 speed box (out of an 81 celica, whatever code they have). any manufacturers) would be appreciated. i am looking for something heavier that standard, but not unusable. just enough that there is no chance of slippage (@ 200hp, not that i have that (yet)).

oh, and approx price (self installation)

cheers

I've been using an RPM clutch but it was slipping a fair bit, i'm running about 200hp at the wheels though.

I've just picked up a custom made 1600 pound pressure plate and a 5-puck clutch plate for $400. Should be good for around 400hp apparently.

That was from direct clutch in brisbane, not sure where you would be best to go in melbourne though.

Your best option is to speak to a clutch specialist and tell them your requirements; they will recommend a suitable setup for you. Direct Clutch are great as mentioned above, but I'm sure there's an equivalent in Melbourne.

Just make sure you tell them the final power figure you want to have, otherwise you might have a clutch you have to change when you decide to run even more power Smile
