possibly the stupidest ever radiator question, but...

ok, looking at the JZA70 rad and the MA61 rad, the ma61 is actually thicker than the jza70 one...
I'm wondering if anyone knows which one cools better? I know the ma61 is bigger, but jza70 one is more advanced.
trying to decide which one to use

I would suggest the JZA70 one is better, although I've never done any back-to-back comparisons. I actually saw an MA61 with a JZA70 radiator last week, and it looked like it was nearly a bolt-in fit. Very neat.

JZA70 uses a different more efficent core material

greg if its any bonus - i can give you a BRAND NEW nipon denso original top tank for an ma61 rad, as well as 2 spare ma61 rads with purrrfect bottom tanks and straps - ready for you to build the ultimate triple core
the top tank alone cost me $80 as i lept on it when i saw one was evan available from the factory
think of it... custom schmick looking triple core!

Yeah, triple core MA61 rads work great. 2JZ + Queensland weather = no worries.

the ma61 radiator will work better as it seals off the support panel and doesnt allowing hot air to be recirculated
but the jza one does fit quite nicely, i think i actually installed it in the car u own draven, so the ma61 brackets are missing...

Hope I'm not a thread hijaking terrorist here, but ...
I was hoping to use the Chaser radiator that came with my 1JZ half-cut, but it won't fit.
How do you think I'd go using a good condition standard MA61 radiator with thermo fans? Or will I definitely need a re-core? Or should I look into the JZA70 radiator?
I'm going to have a Big Mother FMIC partially obscuring the radiator. Hopefully I can hide the tranny cooler somewhere it doesn't obstruct airflow to the radiator & FMIC.
cheers,
Justin

Cheers, Iceman!
I'm going to run AUtometer oil and water temp gauges and see how it goes with two thermo fans. If need be, I'll get the radiator re-cored.
Justin
Another JZA61
PS: Apparently there's another 1JZ Mk2 hooning around Perth - and he's about to go for the big single spinner. Anyone know anything more?

ed: me love you long time. I'm VERY interested in all mentioned parts
norbs: what sort of triple core did you fit, or did you just take it to a rad place and say "put in a triple core that fits"?

BlackSupra,
sorry but my 1J isn't even in yet (doh).
