I have heard roumers that it is common to change a 4K motor to electronic ignition, by using the elec ignition setup out of a Holden Gemini, i really dont know if this is true but i cant seem to find any info on it in this forum.

the easiest way is to use a 4K electronic dizzy. these came out on 4KC's in the US and 4KE's as well, both in starlets 81-83ish

i have NFi about geminis, but they way i would do it (if i didn't have an elec dizzy) would be to source a denso corolla dizzy, then find a Denso elec dizzy which has the same diameter internals (pretty easy since they are pretty common), take out the guts of the elec dizzy, swap over to the K dizzy.

there may be a bit of stuffing around as to bolt holes and such, but i know someone who does that for T and R series distributors..

take a corolla dizzy to the wreckers and have a look see Very Happy

oh yeah, there were some imported KE70's with elec dizzys, and some had 4K-U motors..

also look at 5K and 7K dizzys as well... 5K liteace may not be, but the 7KE will almost defintiely be elec.
