Have a look on the front of the head of the 18RG, if it has an oval and sdays YAMAHA, u can run ULP, Though i choose to run like a tank of Premium (or BP ultimate) then like a tank of LRP......
Thats just so im playing safe, JUST in case....
But yeah.....HEaps of ppl i know run straight ULP or PULP

its better to be safe then sorry, just run LRP only a few cents more you wont notice it out of your pocket each week and it has a higher octane rating. but i'm the same as ben and run some premium through it now and then just to clean out the engine and if i plan on giving it a hard thrash helps prevent pinging
but i don't think those engines have hardened valve seats but i may be wrong

don't all alloy heads have hardened valve seats.?! Everything I have owned in the last few years I have run unleaded in for the fact that you never know what you are getting anyway the fuel you get today is shit and has cost me more in pumps and filters than engines. Most of us don't drive things that are that close to the edge that it becomes a problem, those that do know what and where to get to get it BTW I have never killed an engine from using unleaded fuel
