Need to get rid of my car. Wed, 29 October 2003 01:54 Go to next message
Hi everyone, i'm actually getting quite desperate in getting rid of my ride. It's advertised in the Car Sale section as the 98 Turbo Starlet. If you know anyone that would be interested, i'm interested in hearing offers.

Also on a side topic, does anyone know a place where i can get a custom turbo job done for a car. If i sell my car i was actually thinking of getting a Nissan NX Coupe until i can afford my turbo SW20 next year. I've been quoted $6500 for an entire SR20DET conversion including labour but i only want a small turbo on the NA SR20DE. I just love the sound of a good BOV thats all, plus i would'nt mind the extra oomf in the low rev range....

Also, are we allowed to import the Supercharged model of the AE101 Trueno Sprinter to Australia? www.j-spec.com import them but i think their just NAs...

Why bother turboing a NX coupe if your getting a Mr2 next year ?

I cant figure that out ..

Save your cash for the MR2 - or check out prestiege autosports page for the levin - they should be able to give you a good idea on the GZE levins/trueno's

yeh i actually chekd out www.prestigemotorsport.com.au and spoke 2 Geoff Risby. I won't be able to import the SW20 turbo til next june when it turns 15yrs old. STUPID GOVERNMENT!!! but yeh they got sum good 1s for around $9k landed. But i was just wondering if the non-supercharged ae101 is any good on its own bcoz its my dream car n i luv da shape.

as 4 da NX, i jus want a cheap summer car 4 now 2 get me around, my turbo starlet pisses me off coz its 2 low n bumpy n i cudnt stufd spending more money getting rid of da stuff i did 2 it. i regret it now bt i was hoping der was sum kids out der dat wud wna but these lowered lil rice rockets. But da reason i want a turbo is jus dat... i dno, 4 me after 1st driving my starlet i jus cant go bak 2 an NA unless i can feel it roar u kno. u guyz wud kno wot dat feels like on a 4age wen it roars...

dont bother turboing.. u can make ur mr2 with the money u will waste on the nx... alternatively.. live with ur current car until u can import the mr2.. or buy some cheap turbo car like an old soarer or something. Or an ma70 or something.. least that will sorta retain its value

dsp 26 - do you, by chance, spend much time on the fast 4's forum.

b cos u tork like da boyz from dere... Razz

Also - if your starlet isn't selling, its probably because you are asking too much for it. This suggests you don't have a lot of money spare - in which case, why the fok would you choose to do a custom turbo install on a car that you only plan on keeping for a couple of months? Of course - its your money and you can do what you like with it but have you really thought this through?

okay i know this is a toyota forum so i aint gonna talk about the NX much. i was considering the older supras but the only one ive driven is a mates 1JZ-GTE import variant and that goes. apparently the older supras don't go as hard (okay im waiting for it.... people are gonna tell me off for this, so enlighten me...)

and also i kno im picky, i like my little rice rockets and i do like curvy cars. theres just not that many roundy cars around that era.

as for the price on my car yes i know i'm asking for too much and i'm not expecting that much coz i know people like negotiating. i have a reserve price in mind and will sell on offer... but then again if you guys look on the tradingpost people are selling the 93 turbo model from 11k-14k. i only based my price range around that and mine is a 1998...

im not getting up you cause its a nissan.. im just saying if u are set on selling urs now and want a nice looking fast car to last you.. an old supra(say like 89 m,odel with 7mgte) will look better, go faster and cost less(i think).. i reckon u should just save for the mr2
We on this forums dont hate other car manufacturers at all(ok maybe some hate honda...) infact most of us like them alot.. we just all like toyota's the most Smile
