4agze into a KE70 Thu, 30 October 2003 07:57 Go to next message
Hi guys
Im new, just wondering what would be needed for the conversion? Would i be able to use the standard diff in the KE70? Would the t50 gearbox be the best? etc?
Also what rough prices would i be looking at?
All comments welcome. Smile

whatever articles you can find on installing it into a sprinter apply to the ke70 as they are identicle.
you can use the diff and gearbox, but how are you gonna drive it? if you go easy they will be ok but if your gonna drive it hard you'll need something better. it all depends on how much you wanna spend and how much you can do yourself. if your determined to get it done just attack it and when you get stuck ask questions then. its pretty easy only a few niggly bits to worry bout but relatively easy as far as conversions go.

yeah what EVOSTi said, once u install the ae71 cross member, its pretty much the same as installing one into a sprinter, and there should be plenty articles for that floating around on the net.

EVOSTi, just wanted to asked if you installed the power steering and A/C in your 4agze setup. If yes, how did you go about the front stabilizer hitting the alternator?

my mechanic change my stock stabilizer with a stabilizer from a KP model but it is too low and always hitting the gutter whenever i parked the car.

peace...

car never had P/S, so never even considered it cause its light steering anyway.
A/C, i desperately wanted to keep but it was not to be. apart from the fact that the pulley is different and it would need some sort of custom mount (i was willing to do both) the compressor would have interfered with the extractors so it had to go.
everyone has the problem of the altenator hitting the sway bar, mine is mounted with some pipes sorta as brackets to move it further from the block. hard to explain but it clears it by about 10mm.

Due to pure luck, my alternator in its factory position clears the front swaybar by about 4-5mm. It's a 24mm Whiteline swaybar and everything else is stock.

You can always relocate the alternator, not much work in it, but if you are going to get a new swaybar anyway, look at one of these.

EDIT - Just saw this was in fact about KE70s, I was talking about a Sprinter.
