Given that your motor is still low Km and not really worth opening up to do the job properly (ideally you'd lower the compression ratio), I'd suggest a low boost option. you'll need to source a supercharger, bracketry and a piggy back style computer to supply a bit more fuel when the engine is on boost. Not a cheap option, given you'll need to customise alot of components and pay for tuning time for the piggy back, but it is doable, I'd estimate a cost of around $2500+ to do the job properly. Given the fact that there aren't alot of current model Corollas that have been worked on (I can't think of any on Toymods), and if you think about pursuing it, find a local competent speed shop and ask questions. The questions I always ask is, "what have I forgotten?", and "what are my options?". If they don't answer the questions for free, or provide helpful infomation, go somewhere else.

Lets assume we plan to run at relatively low boost.
Say around 3-4 psi. Would the compression ratio need to be lowered? The idea is to avoid as many modifications as possible, such as forged pistons, intercooler etc...
In anyone's opinion, what would be the most expensive part of it all? (bracket, ecu?)

I wouldn't open your motor up for only 3-4psi of boost. The most evpensive part of the kit would be the blower itself, followed closely be the installation and tuning costs.
