landcruiser diesel engines Tue, 23 July 2002 04:35 Go to next message
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a turbo diesel engine for a 75/78 series landcruiser?

Currenly has the standard NA diesel engine which is reaching the end of its life.

Its pretty gutless so was thinking if I could chase up an imported turbo would be nicer.

I don't know much about these engines and if they are bolt in or what.

Does anyone know anything about this? Where to get? Hard to fit?
Thanks
Joel

Landy's are not common in japan, I have asked about 1HDT or 1HZ engines at various importers but none have any.

If they do they want more than $5000.

Thats no good.. the 1HD-T is what I was hoping for. But for those costs it would be cheaper to rebuild & turbocharge the original engine probably.

I've noticed this place has the 1HDT engine at the nice low price of $8,800. Don't know if it's new, reco or what. Rolling
