EOI: 18R-GEU complete conversion Thu, 30 October 2003 22:01 Go to next message
With the onset of my new car comming and the opportunity to pull the Celica off the road I'm weighing up the option of selling the engine and most of the driveline to make room for the planned 1G conversion, So this is what I may be selling if I decide it's worth my while:
18R-GEU slight work to exhaust cam, engine bored out (60 thou over) I need to check the stroke but I think It is running 22r rods and hilux pistons approx 10.5:1 comp.
Extractors and complete exhaust system (2 1/4) inch new lukey muffler (installed about 3months ago)
18R-GEU ECU and wiring loom
surge tank
fuel pump (BMW I beleive)
AFM and mount brackets
coil & igniter
5 speed W50 gearbox.
and anything that falls out of the engine bay whilst pulling out the engine
The engine was rebuilt about 35000k's ago and is very tourquey.

I'm looking at around the $1000 mark for the lot but am open to negotiation.

When it comes to the crunch i may be intrested in some bits if for any reason you end up breaking the whole package up.

It will officially be for sale when I take delivery of my company car (expected to be in the next 1-2 weeks)
There is a problem with the car at the moment but I think it is only a bearing in the clutch input shaft I'll be fixing it shortly. other than that the engine can be heard in car.

Jason - I'll let you know if if gets broken up what do you want?

I'd prefer not to split everything unless I can account for everything being sold at some stage soon. but for the engine I'd be looking around $700 once again open for neg.

Hey man,
what altenator setup does the engine use, just out of interest?
I have a very similar setup to yours in my ra28 and im having problems with my external regulator, so i am probably going to upgrade to a higher output unit..

Cheers

the alternater itself is off the 18R-C and the reg is the stock item. All pluged straight in. What problems are you having?

should bolt straight in, the only thing I can think of is the exhaust may not fit the corona floor pan but it should be close.
Like I said previously the gearbox bearings need looking at which I'll be doing on the weekend as I need the car next week (or until my car gets delivered) other than that I'm selling everything needed for the swap + a few bits and pieces.
