One word GATORADE!
Seriously though have you checked your hoses and radiator?? At worst....... pray that it's not a headgasket...... unless it is a 4A-C.. then don't refill it and fasttrack a conversion

Well this is IF it is the H/G blown...
I think it all comes down to how much $$$$ you can afford to spend on your car ATM. If a conversion cannot be afforded ATM, then get the H/G replaced as cheap as possible..... this is if the rest of the engine is ok and nothing else need to be fixed replaced or repaired.... not many 4A-C's around like this always better to have a car that goes than a car that doesn't, right?
You would have to weigh up the cost of a new H/G (again if it is the H/G), and a not too expensive conversion...... Bluetop, 100kw for example.

Most radiator shops do a free colour dye test to check for combustion gasses in the radiator, this is the quickest cheapest way to find out if it is the head gasket. If it is and you can't afford to repair or replace it at the moment, get a bottle of "Bars Leaks", and follow the intructions.
I once ran a 6 cylinder Falcon motor with a blown head gasket on that stuff for another 6 months without drama. Naturally, if the blown head gasket is too far past it, nothing will help you, aside from repair where you will be looking at a bill of over $300.

Barsleak is an internal leak sealer you add to your radiator water. You can get it from any auto store.

Before you start using Bars Leaks, get a radiator place or a mechanic to do a pressure test on your cooling system. I used to lose water out of my 4AC and a pressure test showed up a loose hose hose fitting down near the water pump where it's hard to see normally. At least then you'll know what you are treating - or better still you might have an easy fix.

Shouldn't cost much - maybe equivalent of a couple of bottles of Bars Leaks. All they do is connect a pump onto where your radiator goes and pump some air into the radiator to pressurise the system - at least that's what they used to do. Then they have a look around your engine to look for external water leaks - probably 15 minutes work. Maybe some of the motor mechanics out there can give you a better idea of costs etc. - or go to a service workshop and ask - won't take long to find out, they should be able to tell you off the top of their head.

Let the motor sit over night, remove each spark plug one at a time and inspect plug and cylinder for water.
When my 4ac wasnt running right my mechanic at the time removed number one spark plug, gave the motor a quick crank and it shot water about 6 foot away from the car.
That the worst blown headgasket ive ever heard about.
Cost you nothing and it takes no time at all.
If it reveales nothing get someone in the no to have a look at it.
A sniffer dog will find any gases in the radiator. Most head or radiator shops will be able to do it for you.
