750hp JZA80 Supra FS in ballarat - W00T! ( 56k beware - pics ) Sun, 02 November 2003 08:53 Go to next message
well - did a bit more digging on this mysterious black supra in ballarat

Turns out to be a 750 Hp - not 1000hp supra - which is still a bloody good figure

its got a couple of stand out modifications ( from a quick glance in pouring rain )

Starting off with a TRD 300 GT fiberglass bonnet replica

brembo brakes package

Fully adjustable GT Airliner wing

Some sort of Apexi Aftermarket computer ( theres a tuney thing in the dash with lots of knobs and guages for fine tuning

Turbos ( its still a twin ) dont looks standard - or they could just be shiney

Dirty big Front mount intercooler

What could be a HKS style Exhaust - the pipe dimension all the way thru is at least 3 inches

Either way - still dont know if its a factual 750 HP car - but it scares the crap out of the owner when running at full boost ..

it had some " hamamatsu tuning " sticker on the rocker cover ..

Asking price - $49,990

I wonder if its the genuine article .

you could ask - they are called exotic imports or something in ballarat - they also sell harley's and other inports thru that yard ..

had a sit in a R33 GTR vspec - found it bloody uncomfortable and cramped - even for my weedy frame ..they had another JZA - less worked than the black one - and it was mega comfy - wouldnt want to take my friends in the back seat though .. Gt4 has heaps more room Wink

ooohhh ive seen that, and looked at it heaps.

only thang i dont like is the rear wing...a bit more aerodynamic would be nice.

yep, its american made cycles. they have about 3/4 r33 GT-Rs and 3 jza80s, all twin turbo, 2 are 50k, one is 40k. they seem alright, havent driven them though....

ive only ever driven an NA jza80 and a r33 gtst...and i was impressed. Very Happy

yeah - the turbo plumbing is the only thing that makes me sus on the figure - stock turbos will not go to 750

750hp from shiny pipes and a front-mount?

"Tell 'im he's dreamin'!"

Unless it's got a BIG single and a custom plenum, I'm not buying it.

Hehe...the funny thing is it IS aerodynamic. If its an accurate copy of the TRD 3000GT bodykit then it was based off their race designs.

Would be interesting to see how much power it really makes.

Well that wing must add at least another 50hp. Very Happy I actually like it. Except for the wing. Totally gross.

re 750 horsies - thats why i was skeptical after seieng the twins still on it

I could safely assume it has more ponies then a stock JZA80 - though id say its more this side of 300KW then above

they are what - 230 odd KW at the engine stock ? Norbie ?

206kW is the official figure, but 230kW is probably closer to the truth.

so at a guess anywhere between 230 - 300 KW would be a more realistic fiure for a Supra running aftermarket ECU, laerger intercooler , exhaust , and the such ...

305 rwhp would be a pretty realistic figure for the above. Smile
