MA61 CRAP LOOK HERE

now that i have attention 
ma61 with 5me:
i have a noisy squeak in my engine bay, i have narrowed it down to a few things,
what i wish to know is..
is it ok to run the engine for a short time without the belt on that runs around the powersteering pump and aircon compressor
i cant see why it wouldnt be, but i thought i should make sure

yes its fine for em to run without belts
also, worth noting that a) soap will fix squeaky belts/pullies, and b) wd40 is a goo way to test bearings

ed, i was under the impression that its not good to run a power assisted rack and pinion steering without the pump? and that only recirculating ball power steering was able to run without the pump.
i'm sure there is a limit to how long u can run it for without power, but how long this is, i dont know

yeh i tried soap and wd40 yesterday and i am still unsure.
im not going to be actually driving it without the belts, just idling in the driveway...trying to locate teh noise

You have it backwards; recirc ball P/S shouldn't be used with the pump disconnected, but R&P is fine. I've been driving my Supra with the pump disconnected for years now.

oh dear..
belt replaced- noise still there
methinks tis the alternator now argh i hate this noise im going insane
