Alloy Wheel Repairs

Well.... this morning i hit a FU#*ING GUTTER with my less than 1 week old wheels!!! I guess that's what you get for driving when you havn't woken up and trying to pull over in a hurry to answer your phone.
So my question is... where abouts in BRISBANE can i get my wheel repaired and does anyone know a rough cost? Structuraly there is nothing wrong with the wheel as it was rather low speed, just a very rough edged gutter has scraped it up good and proper.

DUDE!!! you only just got them.. you were meant to show me before u scraped them up lol
that sucks
gutters are my worst fear now since i got my rims.
I was thinking about that the other day "if i DO scrape my rims, how do i fix them".
got any pics of the damage?

that doesnt look too bad. look nice though...what are they?
i'm not 100% sure on the process involved either...from what i understand they'd just put the wheel in a laythe (sp?) and machine back the metal then polish it up
on a few other forums a few guys have recomended chris neale from wheel revolution in underwood but i cant find his number anywhere
one of mine is shagged...its on the inside...as if someones come up and over a big gutter and taken a few good chips out of the inside of the rim....im keen to get this sorted asap but i dont have a car atm so it makes transport painful...i'll be calling around this weekend to get it sorted so if you havent by then i'll let you know whats involved. im down sunnybank way so all the places i've researched are prolly no good to you

Hi Nick,
That place down the Gold Coast I was telling you about is called Depulu Wheel Reconditioners. There number is 5597 3891. We got some work done there a few years ago and were happy. From what I recall, there were possibly cheaper options at the time.
Cheers,
Cal.

i've damaged a wheel before, similar to that, and when i took it to a few places to see if they could repair it, the first question i was asked is how much does it cost for a new rim? considering you bought a Performance rim i assume that it cost about $200. if that's the case, just buy a new rim (i did), you'll never be happy with it if it gets repaired...

Ill answer this for him as Ive already asked him this question. These rims normally come in a 5 stud pattern.. it was VERY rare for him to find them in his offset/stud pattern(i think thats what he said).. hence why needs to get them repaired

yeah just like Jag7799 said, they were a custom made set that bob jane got made up and never sold. I guess i was lucky to get them that easily, but if i could get a new one i probably would though.

Llooks like your rims are spray painted (not brushed or polished metal)
That means you can't just polish it back to smooth. They either have to do touch up or completely strip the wheel and respray it.
Try a spray painter

spray paint
some how i dont think the rims are "spray painted"
If you got a die grinder with a very fine sanding tip and have a steady hand you could touch it up yourself then get some solvol give it a good once over and voala
but if they are deep scratches i think mag places fill the groves then touch it up
spray paint

Spray paint, powder coat, however you like to call it
I can tell you those rims are not polished alloy. They are most probably sprayed or have a clear coat at least.
Solvol? good one brainiac. Which scent? Original or lemon citrus?
My rims are spray pained and if i had a camera here, i'd take a pic where it's flaking off one of the spokes. How do you think they make wheels white, black and gold? Crayons?
