We've all got a bargain by using another brands part to do the same job, the one I always remember was using 308 Holden V8 timing chains in my 18RC rebuild (to save hundreds of dollars on two genuine chains, many years ago), what are your secret swaps?

Are the clips and clasps interchangable or do you need the whole unit to swap over?

they were identical - non retractable types - you know - the unsafe lap sash type

all early 70's cars had them

And replace the oil pump! The noisy chains is a sure sign of lower than standard oil pressure, as the tensioner is oil filled and pressure regulated.

Can anyone tell me what electric fuel pump I should get for an 18RG with shaved head, lumpy cams, port/polish, extractors... Can I use one off of a Holden V8 or something cheap? I'll be buying one new, just need to find out what to use.
Chers,
Tim
