18rgeu questions Mon, 03 November 2003 10:22 Go to next message
I have on just bought this engine. originally it was an 18rgu engine and now has the fi gear on it. How will this go. Should i get the original efi head to go with the efi gear or not worry about it. What is the best work to do to this engine to make it go harder, keeping in mind that i am turboing it, and it is fuel injected. Should i bore it out, port it or just turbo it and leave it. and if anyone has a wiring diargram please email it to me. strokemegently_69@hotmail.com all help if appreciated and this is going in my old dingy xt130 corona also.

Compression of 8.7 should be ok for low turbo boost. Efi head pretty much the same as what you have, they say the head with numbers 88253 are better for porting (meatier I believe)which is probably what you have.So don't worry about changing. As far as will it go well ,mine goes pretty well but still working on the fine tuning. NO turbo though.A wiring diagram was posted in the last few days under the title of wiring digram 18rgeu or something, thanks to norbie. cheers mate.

dude... a search either on toymods or ol' faithful (google) would get you your wiring diagrams. Please put in some effort first! Sad

As for your motor - if its the 88250 head, its 45/37mm valves, whereas the 88253 and 88270(efi) heads are both 45/39mm valves with bigger ports, more meat, bigger exhaust bolts etc. THere is a big difference!!
