1GGE, 1GGZE, 1GGTE - cheap and RWD
3TGTE, expensive and occasionally (expensive) RWD
SR20DE (just write "toyota" on the cam lid)

3S-GE is the best candidate for a Sprinter, but the install rates as a moderate level of difficultly.
Other ideas to consider could be to fit a 4A-GE head to a 7A-FE engine and fit that, or if you like the more complex engine installs, fit a SC12 supercharger to your 7A-GE combo.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Thankyou for your consideration to my laziness though.

I didnt mean to be rude but this subject does get talked about a fair bit! Do are search and then if you still need more help then go ahead and ask! I am fitting a 3S-GTE into a TA22 which is bassicly the same as the AE86, so if you want you can get me on ICQ or MSN.

Its kool Cool1.
I agree with you, search is the best.
I have been reading up on Bill Sherwoods conversions and it just seemed he had alot of obsticles and didnt seem an easy job at all. So I koinda actually forgot about the 3sge completely then was stupid enough to post a thread asking about what is a good 2Ltr Toyota engine..... of course 3sge would come straight up.

Hurry up and write it then, so the next time someone asks this question (which will probably happen in a week max) we can just send them the link!
