i just recently bought myself a very nice little Ra28 sillycar, and was wondering what people here might know about the factory specs for this car, so i can compare them to what it actually has.
Here's what she's got: 18RGU dual twin webbers with foam "socks" yamaha badged head 2L capacity a thirst for fuel extractors
i dont know about the diff.... how can you tell if its LSD?

There are numerous ways, the fun way is to let it rip and see if it leaves one or two marks

THE WITZL.. Australia spec Celica's are just about the basic of basic.. we get
a dodgy 18R-C No LSD 6.7" 4.1:1
The 18RG was out of the GT and GTV spec Celica's in Japan.. Among other cars also... And yes they are thirsty...

ummm.... well the model i have IS the "GT 2000"... you know.. the mustang fastback look-alike (RA2 and it definitely has the 18RG (im pretty sure its 18RGU tho) its a 1977 model, and from what ive been told australia (for one year) released the GT 2000 models as a limted edition, and that's where mine has come from i believe
if im wrong please feel free to call me an idiot

congrats mate, they are a cool car.
Are you sure yours is a gt? if so well done! to see if it has lsd, jack the back wheels off the ground and spin one.... if the other one spins in the same direction it's a lsd.
The yamaha head is stock on an 18rg, but webbers are not - they came with solex's. if your car is a real gt it may have come with that motor... if not it came with an 18rc and some one has done the swap.
my ra28 used to have one of these motors... they aren't too bad a thing... but they do use a bit of fuel to make the power.
Enjoy Stew

A GT... cool .. You will know if it is a genuine GT if it says 18RG on the VIN plate .. It should also have a oil and volt gauge on the dash... and a lot of other features that aus spec dont get...

they sure do like the fuel i managed to suck down 19L in 100km last sunday,
i may be wrong but by just jacing up the car and spinning one wheel i can't see how you can check it that way as isn't a LSD just like any normal diff they spin the wrong ways except when it gets to a point where its spinning to much or for to long then they lock? i say pop one wheel up on the nature strip leave the other on the road give it some gas and see if the one on the nature strip is the only one spinning or if the one on the road does as well.

whoa.... all this talk of spinning wheels is making me dizzy...
yes im SURE its a GT, the VIN no starts with 18RG, but it doesnt have the oil and volt guages, just a guage with two warning lights.. one for each.. also the speedo and tacho have imprinted TRD badging (factory) and the interior is generally cooler than your usual RA28. the seats are also TRD racing buckets, but i think they are from an AW11 mr2 or something like that. it also has what my friends call the R2D2 light (the moveable mini spotlight)... the GT2000 badge at the back, small steering wheel, custom centre console and other bits and pieces. Plus, she ROARS!!!
you guys will probably cry when you hear how much i paid for my baby......
less than $2000
ill also try all of your LSD tricks, we shall see....

$2000.... Bugger me.. . Thats the deal of the century... Good buy.. Lsd usually have in the trans/axle code the last number being a 3 or a 5... Eg T293, or T295.. T = size 29= ratio 3 = lsd
