I have recently purchased an 18rgu with efi gear on it making it an 18rgeu. First question is can anyone say where i can get a head gasket besides paying $60 from toyota and waiting 2-4 weeks for one from japan and are the 18rgu and 18rgeu head gaskets different. Next is how do i tell what injecters i have and if they are standard whats the best higher flowing ones to put it as im doing a turbo or supercharger conversion which leads me to my next question. Turbo or supercharger will a supercharger fit and run alright and whats the best one to use, and what engines are they one. Next is if the head is gone on the engine and it has been driven for a while before the problem was pin pointed to head, could it have damaged it and is it possible to tell before i put the engine in.

head gaskets are all the same
use a sc14 from a 1GGZE
depends on what the problem was, if it was just a blown headgasket then it may have over heated and warped or cracked
u can pull it off and use a straight enge and a set of very thin feeler guages and check for true-ness.
it may have only cracked slightly up inside one of the ports or galleries, so it may pay to have a full pressure test done, they cant crack test a alloy head as they dont conduct very well.
but they can do a sonic test
call JHH engineering in woodridge
or Bryants engineering at coopers plains
or redlands engines

There is a guy who frequents the SA forum who has done the SC14 on an 18RG thing in his RA40.
Pressure testing is always a good idea, it cost us about $20 and was a good investment.
One alternative to waiting for a $60 toyota head gasket is waiting half a week for a Durapro $68 one.
Durapro p/n for 18rgeu head gasket: GS-BK690*D
Do not use an ezyfit gasket, they are POS!
We haven't had any trouble with this, it has a metal core and graphite outer.
There is no difference between 18rgu and 18rgeu head gaskets, if your block has the rear oil drain hole then you're going to be ok with the above gasket.
