Check your caps lock key, it appears to be STUCK.

There's no way an RA23 weighs anything like 800kg. The real weight is 1100kg or slightly less. They were porky cars for their day!

The rule is like this for Qld:

Atmo: Vehicle weight (kg) x3 = max allowed engine capacity (cc)
Turbo: Vehicle weight (kg) x2.5 = max allowed engine capacity (cc)

So if we assume the car is 1100kg, you can fit a 3.3 litre atmo engine in your Celica, or a 2.7 litre turbo engine. Note that for registration purposes, a 13B is considered a 2.6 litre engine. Looks like you should be able to do it!

As always, speak to an engineer before you make any plans.

qld rules for engine conversions suxor - I'm pretty sure nsw rules are much nicer than that (for cars over 1100kg anyhow)

How do they figure that a RA28 weighs the same as a RA23, that's a bit wrong in my mind.

I thought the RA28 was around 1000, but I had thought the RA23 was supposed to be lighter.

I suppose there are a few variables though, like how much fuel you have and how many 5kg sledge hammers you keep in the boot. Razz
