2t/3t geu cams Wed, 05 November 2003 13:20 Go to next message
hey guys, ive begun the 2t/3t hybrid project, looks all good atm. I have a question though, im planning on putting 304/304 cams in the engine, i was wondering if it was possible to regrind the standard cams from the 2t geu to 304 or would i have to buy new cams??

My less-than-helpful suggestion would be to consult a cam shop.

Standard 2T-G cams can be regroud for 304 degrees, or whatever you want. To do this they reduce the base circle meaning you need to use thicker ships, which i ok I think. If you can spend some money, get the shop to first weld the cams before grinding them so they can maintian the base circle.

I think Wadde camshafts in Melbourne is where mine came from.

Its still in bits. I lightened the flywheel down to about 6.5kg. Drilled some holes etc. The flywheel and 3T crank are now getting machined and ballanced. Maybe I will make a alloy pully so that can get ballanced with it also.

3T-C pistons are getting the valve releifs machined not also, but these machine shops are taking there time. Also a conrod had to get resized for some reason.

Got a 2T-GEU gasket kit on e-bay!!! Cheaper.

Head is cracked through the spark plug holes Sad I may need to find another head to start with or get this repared. Would prefer a 88222 head or maybe 88260.

Will buy new double valve springs, chains, chain dampers etc from swmotorsport.com.au soon.

I have wadde 305.5 degree cams going in. One of then is a regrind only and need thicker shims.

Block is at 86mm with 3T crank/pistons. 1813cc
