I just recently bought a ra23 and discovered a problem when i bought it home. I had a closer look at the mag wheels that are on it and found out that they had ben packed out with about eight washers . So i was wondering if there is a offset kit you can buy so the mags will fit or am i able to buy longer studs and just make a packer out of a hunk of steel. Its really peed me off, so if anyone could help with some info that would be great.
thanks,
glenn

Any packing or spacer is ILLEGAL for street use. It can be engineered but most engineers won't. If they do, you usually need to have the spacer welded onto the rim itself, so it's all one part.

If you are going to go ahead with it, your best bet would be to make up an aluminium plate of the right thickness. And if the studs are too short try and get longer ones.
Saying that, it's illegal for a reason, so be careful and think over what you end up doing.

Proper bolt-on wheels spacers are apparently legal (or can be). Have a chat to an engineer to find out more. And I'd recommend you don't drive around with your current setup - it's just a matter of time before a wheel stud snaps, and that could really ruin your day...

I read somewhere that standard 60 series Landcruisers have longer wheel studs and they should fit early Celicas.
Take a hub down to your local Toyota parts place and ask them to show you one of these things.
Cheers,
Mitch.

be sure to remember that the wheel studs are NOT there to support the weight of the vehicle, they are only there to hold the wheel on.
the hub in the center is where the weight is placed onto the wheel. Washers for spacers are a NO NO!

thanks heaps guys, I'll have to check out those 60 series wheel studs, my original plan was to buy racing studs, which i think are ford thread, then get a packer machened up so it has a stub to fit inside the mag. But I'll have a think over it, thanks heaps guys.
