help and advice?

Hey guys,
At the moment Im looking for an old celica, preferably RA28 (but still wouldnt mind a TA22 or TA23).
My goal is to find one with a 5 speed manual, original paint, fairly straight body, and good interior. I'd like to find one that hasn't been modified because my taste is different.
I'll be putting in a worked 2T engine, and would like the rest of the car to look original and classic, thats why i want one with original paint. Then I'll fix rust if it has any, restore little bits and pieces and put a fresh top coat over the whole car.
I'm wondering if you guys could lend some advice in what to look for in buying an old celica, such as common rust spots and other areas of weakness. If there is a page that already has this info could you please direct me to it?
Cheers, Tom

Alot of folk ask this question , you could use the search function on this forum to get heaps of tips and pointers on buying a ta22 ..
In a nutshell - mechanically - check for rattling timing chains -this is a obvious old 2t problem , worn brake lines etc is another of the cars old ..
rust rise - look around the windows , in the lip of the bonnet , behind the rear wheel arch , around the taillights , in the doors and front fenders ..
Also under the car - before the rear wheels - in the sill ..
For more details - the SEARCH function is your friend ..
its up there - in the right hand corner

oh and if you want a worked 2t - your best bet is to stick with a ta23 or ta22 - the ra28 didnt come with them standard - so yud have to engineer one in ..
ta22 is the pick of the bunch for 2t powered - its all there already
