will my box gear fit into an r154? Sat, 08 November 2003 13:20 Go to next message
Hi guys
Im contemplating going to an r154 in my ma61..from a w57 (slackass before me replaced the 58 with a 57 Mad) .
so i'm wanting to know, if all my crs ford to toyota supra box stuff will go into an r154? That means clutch, flywheel, fork, brace..everything? I know its been asked a thousand times, but what mods have to be done to the tailshaft again? Shifter location?
I know the bolt pattern is different, so id have to bog and re-drill my bellhousing.
Thanks
Blake.

Input shaft and spline are the same, so I don't see why not. I'd also suggest calling CRS and asking them if they'll swap the bellhousing over with a cash adjustment if needs be?!

They wanted over $100 to do it from memory..its not hard to bog up holes in alloy is it? Easy to re-drill when theres a pattern to follow!
That the least of my worries though..so i should be right with ALL the ford clutch and manual stuff i have at the moment?

Thanks
Blake

Only you will be able to find out by trying it. If you like I'll make a copy of my bellhousing on paper and send it to you, so you know where to drill the new points, get the other holes TIG'd up and smoothed then.

Lemme know how it goes, I would be interested, as I may have to end up swapping my W box for an R154 sometime (after I break a couple!)
