Are there any other lower suspension arms apart from AE85/86, TE71 that are similar in overall lenght? To give me a bit of extra negative camber

one option is to take the standard ones to some engineering place and have them rose-jointed. this is how mine are set up and allow camber adjustment not just one set length.

Not sure about new zealand but maybe you should mention that this conversion is highly illegal for road use.

I think you'll find it's illegal to modify an arm, but legal to replace it with something suitable, in your case something longer for more permanent neg camber.

Its perfectly legal as long as it all engineered! In my case my engineer will be doing the modification

yep im sure as i have them in my car atm
Sigma arms fit also (early ones) but need modifications and therefore wont be legal.
where as the RA60 arms bolt straight in.

pfft since when is everything i do legal. does it really matter? do you think a cop is gonna check your control arms? especially when in my case i have bigger wheels, pod filter... plus an un-engineered gze. hmmm.
but anyway, took photos of control arms today, got them developed and my friend is scanning them tonight so they should be up either tonight or more likely tomorrow.

None of our cars are legal but when your giving advice to someone you should really give them the whole story and then they can decide.

A rose joint is a spherical bearing that allows rotational movement, but won't compress like a rubber or polyurethane bush, which in turn allows the suspension geometry to hold it's settings under load. I won't mention that they are also illegal for street use, but as EVOSTi said, when is the last time you saw a cop get on his hands and knees?!!!

because while there is NO slop what so ever they incure a large amount of force and are prone to failure.
Get a cracked rose joint on a control arm on a highspeed corner and your propper fuked!

"Prone to failure"
I run rose joints on the front of my rally car, and back in 2001 when i planted the front side of the car into a mountain sideways with enough force that the moved both chassis rails over about 5 cm to the left, the only suspension damage i had was the big bolt that held the ball joint in bent slightly

Like most things the rules are open to interpretation by the engineer. So you may be able to get a set of rose-jointed lower arms certified.
If you have any doubts you can always get your camber dialled in with a strut top plate.

DAMO, if you re-read my post you will notice i said "one option". therefor im only offering an idea from my own experience. before doing such a conversion you would be stupid not to look into it further and just take the advice off someone you dont even know.
Youngy, i was thinking that myself, a strut top plate is easier to adjust and probably easier to engineer.
Cool1, my friend hasnt mailed me the pics yet but ill tell him to get a move on and hopefully have them when i get home tonight.

this might sound stupid but why not use negative RCA if you want extra negative chamber???

because they are a bad idea.... the bottom of the strut incurs a large amount of sheer force.

Each to their own but I have run rose jointed lower arms on the road and track for almost 4 years with no problems whatsoever. Same for (non-offset) RCA's.

Also running lengthened lower arms you get a large track increase which is plenty sweet. I ran Ae86 lower arm with moly rosejoint max extention was about 25mm. ran on the street and racetrack for about 4months then decided to remove just for piece of mind. I now run an ae86 arm with a 60mmlong piece of 4mm thick box section welded near the base with a large amount of the arm overlapping the box section for strength - this is used in combination with nolethan lower arm bushings and swaybar+caster bushes. Its a very nice setup and i dont worry about it.
SO
Rosejoints are fine no probs there unless you are worried about the fuzz busting yo ass

Yeah i had a couple of arms off an RA60 Celica my friend gave me, swapped the steering joint over to an AE85 p/s one to reduce the excessive negative camber. It works a treat as my drivers side wheel has a bit much negative camber aswell, but also has stopped wearing the outside of my tyre.

Out of curiosity, will the sprinter sway bar bolt straight onto the RA6X arm? If not what will? or is a custom one the go?
