Embarassed
Was trying to find a good place to mount a Bosch (ex-Camira) EFI fuel pump on my RA23 this weekend, when I got myself confused.
Can someone please confirm for me that the inlet side of the Bosch fuel pump in the side with the power connections (pos/negative) and that the outlet is the single pipe on the other end ?
Or do I have it @rse about ?
Cheers,
Mitch.

Mitch,
The inlet is the side that requires hoseclamps and the outlet is the threaded end.

So yes the electrical terminals are on the outlet side of the pump.

afaik a camira pump is the same as a VL one

fuel flow goes IN the end with the + and - terminals and OUT the other end

check it with a bit of fuel in a bucket...

The inlet side has the 1/2" pipe outlet for the feed pipe from the surge or fuel tank. The outlet side has the electrical connections, with a 5/16 outlet heading towards the fuel rail.

on a side note the threaded end has either 12x1.5mm thread for the '044' pump or 10x1.5mm thread for the 'vl turbo' pump.

Gabe

ps. The suction side for most pumps (not just fuel) will have a smaller discharge pipe diameter.

Both ends of a Bosch 044 are threaded. The inlet side of my Bosch 044 was M18x1.5, not to sure of the outlet because I never removed it.

Thank you for the help guys.
I'm pretty sure that the pump I have uses hose clamps
on both sides, ie. neither end is threaded.
I will have a look again tonight.
Either way, 1/2 inch pipe on inlet side, no connectors;
5/16 inch pipe on outlet side, with connectors.
Cheers,
Mitch.

mate, i would just hook up some spare pipes and fill both sides with gas and give it a quick run on the battery, it will be easy to see, so long as you dont get the gas in your eyes or blow yourself up!
