Bonnet Swapping Tue, 11 November 2003 03:30 Go to next message
Hey, I have a 90 Celica. I was wondering if i got a GT4 bonnet, can I just take the old one off and put the new one on, or is it a big job. Secondly, will the colour match up, assuming they both have the same colour codes (mine is 3E5) or would it look slightly different. I mean because one of them would have been in the sun a bit more than the other etc. Thanks

possibly get your self a tape measure and find out
Check out how its mounted (eg what the bonnet bolts up to)

but if they are the same car and ones a gt4 the others a standard one then yeah it would bolt up

i think Very Happy

the color would definitely be different upon application.

however, if you cut and polish the fenders and the bonnet, it should look alright...

Doesn't always.. just depends on the condition.

You might be better off buying a GT4 bonnet scoop and applying that on, cause the cost of a real one would prolly be heaps..

check out www.ssv.com.au

only problem is that you would have to leave it to a pro to paint and put on.. so it's big $$$..
on second thoughts, maybe a GT4 bonnet isn't such a bad idea.
Though finding a GT4 with the exact matching color of an aussie celica would be tuff...

rock on.
