MA70 manifold gaskets Tue, 11 November 2003 06:06 Go to next message
Does anyone know whether the gaskets in the exhaust manifold in the normal MA70 are the same as in the Turbo-A? Any help would be appreciated.

I need to rebuild from the manifold back down to the bottom of the dump pipe.

Any good ideas for additional things that i could do whilst im rebuilding it as well? I'm already going to put in a bigger dump-pipe Very Happy

Cheers

Ok i have all the piping out now and almost have the turbo out right.

1. Whats the deal with that thing sticking off the shoulder of the dump pipe?

2. When you made your new dump-pipe did you also make a custom shoulder pipe?

3. How on earth do you get to the pipe underneath the turbo that connects to the oil (i think)? Its the only thing i need to get off before the turbo will come out.

cheers Allan

Ohhh now this is fun! its about 2-3 hours to get that FUCKING pipe off and back on! get comfortable under the car and use 1/4 inch drive with 12mm socket from memory and a few extensions then a flex and then another short extension to get up there think one was thru an engine mount hole..

and you think thats a bitch! wait till you have to get the bastard back on!... if i ever have todo that again im replaceing it with a braided line for the oil feed at least!
