dude, you're not really comparing apples with apples
5K is OHV vs the 4AGE which is DOHC
the VE will be miles ahead on the 4AGE due to the type of engine and its inherent design
BUT
5K is 1.5, 4AGE is 1.6
not sure how much power the 5K makes, but, the 4AGE makes 86kw, 92kw or 100kw or more with a Z or 20v
what is it exactly that you want to know?

do a search for info.. there is buckets and buckets of info for 4AGE's, from stock to formula atlantic and everything in between.. start with Billzilas page for one....
as for 5K? it's a 4K with larger bore. it has similar sized ports, and has hydraulic lifters, but apart form that is a 4K....
it responds to mods liek a 4K, and will run out of head flow same as a 4K, btu at a bit lower revs (and the pistons are heavier.....
c.mon, make an effort to find before asking

The fact of the matter is that however much you mod a 4/5K it's still gonna be a chunk and never make as much power as a 4AGE in standard trim. 5Ks are a commercial engine and they don't like being revved, I'd recommend the 4K over the 5K to be honest. There's just no real point if you're gonna get maybe 5hp and a weency bit more torque out of it.
A 4AGE with with extractors and filters is gonna be 130hp at the absolute least and you can take it up to 7300rpm with no worries. With the 4K you're looking at about 6000rpm(mine valve bounced at 5500rpm) tops, so I can imagine the 5K being any better.
Ks are good though just coz they're so simple, lightweight and they take a beating and they just won't die. I used to have a 4K in my KE70 skid car where it would would valve bounce mintues on end and overheat but nothing would stop it.

a STOCK 5K doesn't like to be revved...neither does a stock 4K.
realistic 4K redline is 7500rpm, with appropriate springs and cam.
i imagine a 4AGE will have a slightly higher realistic redline due to lower valve train inertia.
what it comes down to is volumetric efficiency and capacity.
max torque = approx 100Nm/L
4 valves will have higher efficiency and get closer to this figure...
MR_KE70, you just have to decide if you want a cheap motor to learn to work on yourself, or do you want drop in performance even if you don't know a thrust bearing from a valve stem seal
just pick a motor heh heh
