In-Dash Tacho Conversion for RT118/104 Coronas?? Tue, 11 November 2003 21:57 Go to next message
Has anyone ever replaced the clock in an rt118 or similar corona with a tacho?

I've been wanting to replace it for a while but i'm not sure what sort of tacho would be best, i'm running an mtx8 with quad coils by the way.

Cheers

At a guess I'd say an RA23 or RA40 tacho might be a close fit in your dash. You'd probably need one of Grant's tacho boosters to make it work with an MTX8 though.

I might check those out for size, are they easily removable from the cluster?

The booster is not a problem though, i can make one of those.

I might see if i can find one i can poke a look at. Hopefully they are around 100mm in diameter, that would be sweet Smile

yeah, my car came with one (previous owner), but i would be much more inclined to put it where the gauges are, and see if you can move the gauges to where the clock is. as it is, with the sports wheel, i can't see my tacho. the gauges are much more visible.

just a thought, cause i'm going to try moving mine in the holidays (read, 7 days time)

cheers
